On Monday evening May 5, 1975, a meeting was held in the home of James and Mary Lamb on Valley Street in New Haven to discuss the prospect of beginning a new ministry. In addition to the Lambs, other ministers present were Christopher and Erminie Williams, and John and Gwendolyn Good. The vision encompassed an assembly with three ministers sharing in the leadership providing diversity for the perfecting and equipping of the saints. The church would provide teaching and training, launching ministries to that end to reach the world. It would also provide support for foreign missions.
Since 1975, Pastor Good and his wife have labored together in ministry at Bible Gospel Center which is presently in Hamden. For more than thirty years, the ministry has included a jail ministry, neighborhood evangelism, radio broadcast, Family Day Summer Camp, The Young Heart's Day Care Center, traveling to the Philippines, Brazil and missionary work in Haiti.
After the passing of John Good, Gwendolyn became the pastor of the church. She pastored for many years, leading and guiding the church while also administrating the day care. In 2013, she stepped down as pastor and became overseer of the work as her son Darius Good took the leadership role. He has maintianed the radio broadcast which currently airs every monday on 1350 WNLK. He also has a podcast show which is on iTunes, a music production company which has released several contemporary gospel records.
